Software delivery and activation
Montagist early license: receipt and confirmation email after payment; activation emailed when the paid edition ships (target: by December 31, 2026).

Montagist
- Pay through the Stripe checkout. Stripe emails your receipt.
- Within one business day, we email a confirmation from support@hidawnllc.com with your order ID and the free-release download.
- Use the free Montagist 1.1.0 (Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later) until the paid edition ships.
- When the 1.x paid edition ships (target: by December 31, 2026), we email activation instructions to your purchase email. If it has not shipped by then, we refund you unless you ask to keep waiting.
The paid edition is a signed Mac download with a published version and checksum. You need a product account, a compatible Mac and your own provider access; model and speech fees are separate.
xStudio
xStudio runs on the customer's own computer. An internal standalone compiled candidate has passed fresh-directory extraction, fresh local database initialization, production startup, private backup/restore and a same-schema side-by-side reinstall. Those checks do not establish a signed desktop application, public customer download, real new-customer OAuth login or different-schema upgrade. The owner's original real OAuth login was already verified in its original setup; it is not an untested product capability. The research/writing-only first-sale change now requires fresh engineering and delivery checks. Its changed address, owner identity and license handoff must also be checked against the original login evidence; that does not require pretending the original OAuth login was never verified.
Current candidate requirements: matching macOS/CPU, Node.js 22+, independent local PostgreSQL 17, an Inngest dev service, browser, the customer's own model access and at least one complete Google or X login OAuth client with a callback matching the local URL. The owner email must match the chosen login account. Workspace login does not enable publishing; direct X publication and metrics are excluded from the first-sale edition.
Customer configuration and authorization state stay private outside the package. The package is bound to a local URL and contains no developer credentials, database or browser profile. The customer download/access path, supported platforms, update migrations and distribution-license obligations must be finalized before paid delivery.
Activating a paid edition
- Obtain the approved release and verify its version/checksum. Configure the customer's own local environment and sign in as its owner.
- Sign into your product account with your purchase email and activate the local installation, within the two-installation limit.
- Import the signed license token into the local license settings. Do not import merchant API keys, payment secrets or issuer private keys.
- Renew online periodically. A signed lease lasts at most seven days; expired offline leases must be renewed before licensed operations resume.
Backup and upgrades
Stop application/background tasks, privately back up the database, configuration and license state, then install a checked new release beside the old version. Preserve the installation ID. Existing databases must follow a verified schema migration and rollback plan; never apply fresh initialization to a database containing customer data. Same-schema reinstall evidence does not replace a different-schema upgrade test.
